Major League Soccer has launched the voting process for the 2025 MLS All-Star Game, which will take place in Austin, Texas. The event is scheduled for July 23 at Austin FC’s Q2 Stadium and will feature a match between MLS All-Stars and a team from Mexico’s LIGA MX.
The selection of 26 players for the MLS All-Star Game involves fans, players, and media. “12 players will be determined by a vote of MLS fans, players, and media,” according to an official statement. Each group holds equal weight in the voting process. Another 12 players will be chosen by Nico Estévez, head coach of Austin FC. Two additional selections are reserved for MLS Commissioner Don Garber.
Votes can be cast online at mlssoccer.com/vote until June 11 at 11:59 p.m. ET. The formation used for voting is 4-1-2-3, including positions such as goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders, and forwards/wingers.
Players qualify for the ballot if they have participated in at least half of their club’s matches this season as of May 19. However, non-qualified players may still be selected by Estévez or Garber.
Fans also have the chance to vote for the team’s captain through the “MLS All-Star Captain Fan Vote Presented by Captain Morgan.” This specific voting opens on July 3.
The match marks Austin’s first professional All-Star Game and will be broadcast live via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in multiple languages. Tickets are available at MLSsoccer.com/AllStar.
