Whataburger has entered a multi-year partnership with the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC, making the fast-food chain a Proud Partner of both teams. The collaboration will bring Whataburger’s presence to Bank of America Stadium, where fans can expect in-stadium activations aimed at enhancing the game-day experience for supporters of both franchises.

The partnership will debut publicly on September 21, when Panthers fans at Bank of America Stadium will be able to sample complimentary Patty Melts and Prickly Pear Raspberry Whatafreshers from the Whataburger Food Truck.

Beyond game days, Whataburger is expanding its involvement in community programs throughout the Carolinas. The company will serve as presenting partner for the Panthers Girls Flag Football program and support Charlotte FC’s community engagement efforts.

“Sports in the Carolinas are all about tradition, passion, and pride—three things that Whataburger fans know a whole lot about,” said Scott Hudler, Chief Marketing Officer at Whataburger. “This multi-year partnership with both the Panthers and Charlotte FC allows us to deepen our connection, serve fans in new ways, and invest in programs that create real impact for the people of the Carolinas.”

“This partnership presents a unique opportunity to unite the passionate fan bases of the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC with Whataburger’s brand loyalty and community-driven values,” said Eric Sudol, Chief Revenue Officer at Tepper Sports & Entertainment. “Together, we’re going to be able to offer something fresh and meaningful for fans across the Carolinas.”

As part of this agreement, hospitality events and fan engagement activities are planned. Team mascots Sir Purr (Panthers) and Sir Minty (Charlotte FC) will make appearances at select Whataburger locations throughout North and South Carolina.

Over the past two years, Whataburger has opened more than twelve new restaurants across North Carolina and South Carolina. Additional locations are currently under development as part of an ongoing investment in regional growth.

The company has also participated in local initiatives such as sponsoring last year’s hurricane disaster relief event Concert For Carolina. It has collaborated with organizations like Wrangler during grand opening celebrations across North Carolina.

Charlotte FC is owned by David Tepper through Tepper Sports & Entertainment, which also owns Bank of America Stadium and the Carolina Panthers. More information about Charlotte FC can be found at https://www.charlottefootballclub.com/.
