The Charlotte Area Transit System is holding a series of public meetings to discuss the LYNX Silver Line Project with Charlotte-area residents.
Currently, in the pre-project development phase, the project team is refining the “locally preferred alternative,” a proposed light rail alignment, according to a release from the City of Charlotte, the city said on its website.
Virtual meetings covering sections of the proposed light rail alignment have covered Wilkinson Boulevard and Center City, according to the release. The remaining meetings – scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 24; and Tuesday, Sept. 29 — will cover the proposals for Independence Boulevard and the Union County Extension.
The virtual meetings begin at 5:30 p.m. and more information can be accessed at RideTransit.org/LYNXSilverLine, according to the release. Meetings have a presentation section followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.
The LYNX Silver Line Project is currently in the Federal Transit Administration public comment period, according to the release. Public comments on the plans for the project can be registered with the commission through Wednesday, Oct. 14.
