Controversy surrounding Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools' learning plans is pitting the district against teachers who say their voices aren't being heard in developing those plans.
AJ Hepworth, who, along with his wife, teaches for the district, said that changes seem to be being made in haste and without proper consideration to the impact on education, WBTV 3 reported in October.
Hepworth cited the district's recent move to once again change its plans for how to handle virtual lessons versus in-person instruction, WBTV 3 reported.
"We've seen that with the dates that they're going back, we've seen that with the adoption of some curriculums," Hepworth said, WBTV 3 reported.
However, the district has responded that surveys were conducted of the principals and staff of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools to gauge their concerns and get their input on how the district should approach the question of when and how to implement in-person or virtual learning.
