City of Charlotte issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.
The Davidson Street entrance/exit to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center garage will be closed to all vehicular traffic from Dec. 21 – Jan. 22 and will open Monday, Jan. 23, 2023.
The garage will remain open and accessible to monthly and daily parkers through the Caldwell Street entrances/exits.
This closure is related to concrete repairs and electrical work which require shutting down the Davidson Street entrance/exit for safety reasons.
There will be signage at the Davidson Street entrance directing traffic to the Caldwell Street entrance.
The Davidson Street entrance will be coned off as well to avoid traffic bottlenecking.
