City of Charlotte Fire Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 4.
Charlotte Fire responded to an industrial accident this morning which unfortunately was also a call that had three fatalities.
At around 9:00 a.m., Charlotte Fire arrived on scene at a construction site where scaffolding had collapsed.
The scaffolding fell from the 10th floor and collided at the 4th floor. When Charlotte Fire arrived, three people were deceased.
Firefighters were able to render first aid to two other victims who were later transported by MEDIC to an area hospital.
There were several responding agencies including OSHA, CMPD and MEDIC. The investigation is ongoing.
We ask for prayers for the families who lost their loved ones today.
