Brooke Weiss, chair of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg chapter of Moms for Liberty, issued a tweet questioning the content of a book about sexuality that she said was found in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system.

“Let’s be very clear! This is what @Moms4Liberty has a problem with!” Weiss tweeted. “Are you OK with this in a seventh-grade classroom because that is where it was found in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.“

The tweet contains two images of sexual content from a book titled, "Let's Talk About It", and includes a TinyURL link to questionable passages in the book.

The tweet also embedded a June 30 exchange from a tweet by The Post Millennial (TPM) that said: “Protestors: @Moms4Liberty is "banning books that are so important for young people to have in their schools!" TPM's @libbyemmons said: "What are some of the books they're banning?"

Protestors: "I don't know any of the titles, but..."

Moms for Liberty is a new organization that now includes chapters in 44 states. Its mission, according to its website, is "fighting for the survival of America by unifying, educating and empowering parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government.”

Moms for Liberty was recently targeted as a so-called “extremist” group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. In response, Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project, said, “Moms for Liberty has been targeted not because they are 'extreme' but because they are effective."
