Throughout Black History Month, we have been highlighting Black-owned businesses and organizations in the Queen City. Today, we focus on some of the top recommendations from local Black influencers for places to DRINK. These establishments offer a range of beverages, from coffee and tea to wine and cocktails.

One highly recommended spot is Davidson Wine Co., a Black-woman-owned winery in Davidson. Lindsey, the owner and a former attorney, fell in love with wine after a trip to Italy. Davidson Wine Co. offers a variety of reds, whites, specialty, and sangria wines, along with seasonal bites. It's the perfect place for a date night or a solo outing.

Evoke Coffee Company is another popular choice. Joe Keenan, the shop owner, has created a safe and authentic gathering place for the community. Known for its coffee, tea, and specialty beverages, Evoke Coffee is more than just a coffee shop. It's a place where people come together for stimulating conversations and positive affirmations. As one influencer put it, "From my first visit there, it felt like family."

The Jugo Bar is a Black-owned juice bar that offers handcrafted and refreshing infused juices. The owner, William Fulton, is knowledgeable about the ingredients and their health benefits. Visitors can enjoy a tasting room experience and sample a variety of juices that improve health, mood, and energy.

For those looking for a unique experience, Lorem Ipsum is a Black-owned listening bar and cocktail lounge. Located in the Plaza Midwood area, this lounge encourages patrons to talk less and listen more. Guests can even bring their own vinyl records to play. While no food is served, you can have food delivered or bring your own. It's a perfect spot for an intimate date night.

If you prefer tea over coffee, The Pauline Tea-Bar Apothecary is a must-visit. With two locations, this tea bar offers a chance to unplug and enjoy a cup of tea. The atmosphere is perfect for catching up with a friend or simply finding some quiet time. They also host events like live music and high tea.

For those with a sweet tooth, Sprinkle is a stylish dessert and cocktail lounge in NoDa. They serve specialty cocktails, coffee, teas, and small bites. The real highlight, however, is their decadent milkshakes. With names like M.H.I.M.I. and Strawberrylicious, these milkshakes are a combination of creativity and indulgence. The lounge's chill vibes and the explosive taste and presentation of their desserts make it a must-visit spot.

Lastly, if you're a coffee lover, JavaBean, LLC is a Black-owned business that sells and serves authentic Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee. They often travel to farmers' markets and regional events, giving people the opportunity to sample their delicious coffee.

These Black-owned establishments offer a diverse range of options for those looking to enjoy a drink in Charlotte. As we continue to celebrate Black History Month, let's show our support for these businesses and enjoy all that they have to offer responsibly.
