The City of Charlotte has launched CLT+ Español, a mobile-friendly platform designed to provide Spanish-speaking residents with a single source for service requests and information. This new version mirrors the features of the original CLT+ App.
"The City of Charlotte is committed to fostering an inclusive community where every resident has access to the resources they need," said Saira Estrada, language access and immigrant integration coordinator. "The launch of CLT+ Español is a great step in making our city services more accessible by ensuring that our Spanish-speaking residents have the same opportunities to connect with and benefit from city services."
City staff collaborated with professional translators throughout the development process to ensure that CLT+ Español effectively meets the needs of the Spanish-speaking community. Consequently, CLT+ has received certification from Languex, an organization endorsed by the American Translators Association.
The app offers a convenient alternative to calling 311, allowing residents to submit various service requests directly to city staff. Examples include paying water bills, scheduling bulk waste pick-up, reporting broken traffic signals, requesting sidewalk construction, and reporting lost pets.
Spanish-speaking residents can easily start using the new app. Existing users will be notified of the update availability. If their primary language is set to Spanish, they will automatically experience CLT+ Español. The app can be downloaded from both Apple App Store and Google Play Store by searching for CLT+.
