Andy Dalton misses Panthers' practice due to thumb injury after traffic accident

Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton was absent from Wednesday's practice due to a right thumb issue. This follows his involvement in a traffic accident on Tuesday. Other players who did not participate include cornerback Dane Jackson (hamstring), wide receiver Diontae Johnson (rib/not injury-related/rest), defensive end A'Shawn Robinson (knee), safety Nick Scott (hamstring), and safety Sam Franklin Jr. (not injury-related/personal/foot).

Several players were listed as limited participants, such as running back Jonathon Brooks (knee), linebacker Claudin Cherelus (hamstring), safety Jordan Fuller (hamstring), linebacker Josey Jewell (hamstring/groin), right tackle Taylor Moton (elbow), tackle Yosh Nijman (knee), linebacker Jon Rhattigan (knee), tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders (groin/wrist), wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring), tight end Tommy Tremble (back), outside linebacker D.J. Wonnum (quadriceps) and safety Jammie Robinson (knee). Thielen, Fuller, and Wonnum have started their 21-day practice windows.

Full participants in the practice included outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney with a shoulder issue, defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy with an ankle problem, and Raheem Blackshear also dealing with a shoulder concern.
