Panthers head coach Dave Canales announced on Wednesday that quarterback Bryce Young will start in the upcoming game against Denver. This decision follows an injury to Andy Dalton, who has a sprained right thumb. The injury occurred after Dalton was involved in a traffic accident on Tuesday.

Canales commented on Dalton's condition, stating, "he feels good, other than his thumb." Despite not participating in practice on Wednesday, Dalton was present on the sidelines with his right hand kept in his hoodie pocket. Canales is considering whether Dalton might be able to serve as a backup for the game this week.

Bryce Young has had limited playing time since being replaced as the starting quarterback after Week 2. He made brief appearances late in games against the Bears and Commanders.
