Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton was absent from the media-accessible portion of practice on Wednesday following a traffic accident on Tuesday. Dalton is currently under evaluation by the team's medical staff. During practice, he was seen on the sidelines wearing a hoodie and his jersey but without a helmet.
The Panthers' 53-man roster includes only one other quarterback, Bryce Young. Rookie Jack Plummer is part of the practice squad.
The accident occurred while Dalton and his family were driving on Sardis Road near Providence Road. Emergency medical personnel did not transport any family members for treatment.
