Charlotte FC selects three promising players in 2025 MLS SuperDraft

Charlotte FC has announced the selection of three new players during the 2025 MLS SuperDraft. The team, seeking to enhance its roster for the upcoming season, made strategic trades and picks.

Initially holding the 17th overall pick, Charlotte FC traded this selection along with $100,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money to San Diego FC. This move secured them the ninth overall pick, which they used to draft Mikah Thomas, a defender from the University of Connecticut.

In the second round of selections, Charlotte chose Andrew Johnson from Cornell University as their 47th pick. To conclude their draft picks, Charlotte selected Barzee Blama, a forward from Mercer University.

Mikah Thomas is noted for his defensive skills and height advantage at 6'2". Hailing from Ponte Vedra, Florida, he played two seasons as a left-back at UConn. "Thomas was a product of the MLS NEXT Jacksonville Armada U23 program."

Andrew Johnson also stands at 6'2" and comes from Philadelphia. During his time at Cornell University, he earned All-Ivy honors twice and contributed crucial goals in all his matches. Before college, he was part of the Philadelphia Union Academy.

Barzee Blama rounds out Charlotte's selections as a dynamic forward known for his goal-scoring ability at Mercer University. He appeared in numerous matches with significant contributions and received several accolades during his college career.

The addition of these players is expected to bolster Charlotte FC's lineup as they prepare for another competitive season.
