The Pro Bowl annually gathers the NFL's elite, providing a platform for players to exchange insights and reminisce about their idols. Among these revered figures is Luke Kuechly, whose influence continues to resonate within the league.

Fred Warner, a prominent linebacker for the 49ers since 2018, expressed admiration for Kuechly. "Oh yeah, oh my goodness!" Warner exclaimed upon hearing Kuechly's name. He cited both Kuechly and Bobby Wagner as his inspirations, saying, "(Luke) and Bobby Wagner are like my two idols."

This year's Pro Bowl in Orlando preceded the announcement of new Hall of Fame inductees at NFL Honors. Neither Kuechly nor former Panthers receiver Steve Smith made it into the 2025 class. However, those familiar with Kuechly's career remain confident in his eventual induction.

Russell Wilson, current Steelers quarterback and former Seahawks player who faced off against Kuechly and played alongside Wagner, noted their toughness and intelligence: "Luke and Bobby Wagner, some of the toughest guys... Luke Kuechly is definitely a special one for sure."

Kuechly retired after the 2019 season but left an indelible mark on the league. Both he and Wagner have impressive records as tackle leaders and multiple-time Pro Bowl selections. They were part of the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2012 and named to the NFL All-Decade team for the 2010s.

Wagner still draws inspiration from Kuechly: "I mean, I watch Luke all the time. I still watch his film," he said during his recent Pro Bowl appearance.

Jared Goff, Lions quarterback who previously played for the Rams, acknowledged Kuechly's skill: "He's one of the best linebackers of his generation and was a pain to play against." Warner also praised Kuechly's mental acuity: "His mind...the way that his mind processed the game...phenomenal player."

Peyton Manning recalled facing Kuechly twice during his career: "Awesome player...A coach on the field." Manning emphasized how challenging it was to outmaneuver him due to his quick thinking on defense.

While statistical achievements often define legacies in sports, respect from peers can be equally telling. As Bobby Wagner concluded regarding Kuechly's enduring legacy: "It's just like anybody...anybody would admire his name."
