City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services has announced that garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulky waste collection will proceed as scheduled on Monday, February 17. The city will not observe a delay in services due to Presidents’ Day.

Residents are reminded to place their carts at the curb by 6 a.m. on their designated collection day. This coming week is identified as a green recycling week.

To assist residents in remembering their collection days, the GeoPortal is available for use. By entering an address into the portal, users can determine their service day and whether they fall under an orange or green recycling week.

For those seeking updates on potential impacts to their collection service, Solid Waste Services provides notifications via text message. Residents can receive these updates by texting their specific day of service to 73224. For instance, if a resident's collection occurs on Thursday, they should text “Thursday” to 73224.

Further details can be accessed by visiting curbit.charlottenc.gov.
