Charlotte FC's forward Wilfried Zaha has been recognized for his impressive debut by being named to the MLS Team of the Matchday. This acknowledgment comes after Zaha scored the club's second goal in a 2-0 victory over Atlanta United FC at Bank of America Stadium.

The match saw defender Andrew Privett initiate a counterattack early in the second half, sending a through ball that deflected off an Atlanta defender and reached Zaha. The winger maneuvered past his defender and set up Pep Biel with a deflected pass, allowing Biel to score at the far post, giving Charlotte FC a 1-0 lead.

Shortly after, winger Liel Abada attempted a shot on goal, which was blocked by goalkeeper Brad Guzan. Zaha capitalized on the rebound near the penalty spot, securing his position as CLTFC Man of the Match with a one-time finish past Guzan.

Zaha joined Charlotte FC on loan from Galatasaray S.K. in January. During his time with Galatasaray, he made 43 appearances across all competitions, scoring ten goals and contributing five assists during their title-winning campaign. Previously, he played in the English Premier League with Crystal Palace, where he scored 90 goals and provided 52 assists in 458 matches.

The complete MLS Team of the Matchday includes forwards Brian White (VAN), Tai Baribo (PHI), Luis Suárez (MIA); midfielders Wilfried Zaha (CLT), Emil Forsberg (RBNY), César Araújo (ORL), Telasco Segovia (MIA); defenders Ryan Hollingshead (LAFC), Michael Boxall (MIN), Mohamed Farsi (CLB); goalkeeper Chris Brady (CHI); and coach Bradley Carnell (PHI). The bench features James Pantemis (POR), Alex Freeman (ORL), Jeppe Tverskov (SD), Quinn Sullivan (PHI), David Da Costa (POR), Kelvin Yeboah (MIN), Rafael Navarro (VAN), Petar Musa (DAL), Hugo Cuypers (CHI).

Charlotte FC is scheduled to play against Inter Miami CF this Sunday, March 9, at Chase Stadium at 4:00 p.m. ET. The club will then host FC Cincinnati on March 15 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
