Mecklenburg County has announced the closure of its offices and services on Friday, April 18, 2025, in observance of the Good Friday holiday. The closures include the Department of Social Services (DSS), encompassing Child, Family, and Adult Services, the Department of Community Resources, and the Valerie C. Woodard and Ella B. Scarborough Community Resource Centers.
Additionally, Public Health offices, the Elections Office, the Tax Office, the Register of Deeds Office, and the Land Use and Environmental Services Agency Offices will be closed on this date.
The county's Solid Waste Centers will remain open on April 18 but will close on April 19. "The City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County towns may provide residential collection service. Residents should check their respective collectors' websites for details."
As for Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation facilities, all Recreation and Senior Centers, Indoor Aquatic Facilities, and Nature Centers will close on April 18, reopen on April 19, and close again on April 20. Parks will remain open, whereas Seasonal Pools, Spraygrounds, and Beaches will not operate as they are closed for the season.

Holiday hours for CharMeck 311 may vary, so residents should check the website for details. Outside of regular business hours, CharMeck 311 callers can report water, sewer, stormwater, and animal issues through an automated system. Additionally, service requests can be submitted online at any time, and various city services are accessible via the CLT+ mobile app. "Please call 911 for any emergencies."
