Mecklenburg County, N.C. – A NO SWIM advisory liftedon July 05, 2023, for a cove on Lake Wylie (see map).
The “No Swim” advisory was issued on June 30, 2023 after an estimated 390 gallons of sewage spilled into Lake Wylie from a failed pipe located at 18328 Rosapenny Road, Charlotte, NC. The line has been repaired and the discharge discontinued.
On July 5, 2023, laboratory results were received for water samples collected by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services’ staff revealing that bacteria counts are within safe limits; therefore, the NO SWIM advisory has been lifted.
