WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senator Thom Tillis paid tribute to fallen Greensboro Police Sergeant Philip Dale Nix during his remarks on the Senate floor. Sgt. Nix tragically lost his life while off-duty after confronting two suspects who were stealing from a store.

He urged Americans to voice their support for law enforcement by contacting their Senators and Congressmen, stating, "Tell them that you want to protect law enforcement officers by enhancing the penalties for criminals who target them. The men and women in blue are heroes. We have to have their back."
