City of Charlotte to Host Career Exploration and Hiring Events

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Feb. 28, 2024) – The City of Charlotte will be hosting two upcoming events on Feb. 29 and March 7 at Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont for job seekers to learn about city careers and to apply for available positions.

"With an 8,000-plus workforce, the City of Charlotte has career opportunities for everyone," said Human Resources Director Sheila Simpson. “Our employees not only make a difference in the community we serve, but they also receive a comprehensive package of benefits, including access to our award-wining Wellness Works program and tuition prepayment program. With these events, we invite the community to learn about careers and to join our diverse and talented team.”

The City of Charlotte Career Exploration will be held on Thursday, Feb. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon. At this event, attendees will learn about city careers, how to apply for jobs and be able to connect with professionals from across the city.

The City of Charlotte Career Expo will be held on Thursday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. At this event, attendees can connect with professionals and learn about careers with various departments.

At both events, a computer lab will be on-site for attendees to apply for jobs. Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is located at 5301 Wilkinson Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28208.

With 21 departments and more than 300 job classifications, career seekers can find work that is the most meaningful to them.
