Clear your calendars for April 26-28! BOOM 2024 will be Charlotte's seventh annual arts festival, taking place at Camp North End for three days this spring, featuring an exciting installation around the Charlotte Arts & Culture Plan.

At BOOM, you can expect a multifaceted and immersive art experience with an eclectic mix of dance, music, theatre, poetry, visual art, film, and more. The festival consists of two distinct parts – BOOM Fringe and BOOM Intersection.

According to the organizers, "BOOM allows for easy flow between Fringe and Intersection. The goal is to encourage people to explore the arts in a single walkable setting." BOOM Fringe features original and experimental art performed in intimate settings, while BOOM Intersection offers a broad range of art performed on a central stage, along with interactive installations and activities—all free and open to the public.

BOOM was initiated by a group of Charlotte artists in 2016 and has since become one of Charlotte's largest, most diverse, multidisciplinary creative gatherings. It showcases a unique blend of creative ecosystems, featuring various mediums, from chalk art to classical music, and from aerial dance to slam poetry.

In addition to the artistic performances, the City of Charlotte is launching its 10-year plan to support arts and culture in Charlotte, titled Show & Tell: Celebrating Our Community’s New Arts and Culture Plan. As part of this initiative, there will be several exciting activities at the Arts + Culture space, including Fireside Chats with recent Infusion Fund grant recipients, workshops, live DJs, and other immersive experiences.

The schedule for the arts and culture activities at BOOM Charlotte is as follows:

- Friday, April 26, 5 - 10 p.m.: Local Artist Fireside Chats at Arts + Culture Space

- Saturday, April 27, noon to 10 p.m.: Arts & Culture on BOOM Stage, BOOM Echoes, and QC Family at Arts + Culture Space

- Sunday, April 28, noon to 8 p.m.: The Broken Crayon Workshop at Arts + Culture Space

Don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in a diverse array of artistic expressions and cultural celebrations at BOOM Charlotte 2024.
