The Carolina Panthers and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) hosted a flag football clinic at Bank of America Stadium on Monday for local youth from the Police Activities League (PAL) of Charlotte. PAL's mission is to support children in obtaining access and opportunities to programs and initiatives that create lifestyle advancements.
Participants were surprised with the opportunity to learn from Panthers Legends, Tre Boston and Mike Tolbert, about the fundamentals and techniques needed to play the game of flag football.
"We had a great time at the flag football clinic tonight. This was special," said Tre Boston, Panthers Legend. "A huge shoutout to Blue Cross NC for hosting an amazing event and bringing us together to inspire kids to step outside of their comfort zones and have fun while being active."
The new multi-year partnership with Blue Cross NC and the Carolina Panthers emphasizes the organization's commitment to developing and supporting health and wellness programs across North Carolina.
"Blue Cross NC has been encouraging healthy lifestyles on and off the field for over 90 years," said Tammy Jones, VP of Demand Generation at Blue Cross NC. "Teaming up with the Carolina Panthers, we look forward to highlighting the importance of health, including the mental health benefits of physical activity, through well-being and play programs with our local communities and sports fans."
"The Carolina Panthers are grateful for the partnership and ongoing commitment by Blue Cross NC to provide resources, experiences, and opportunities for our community," said Panthers Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, Dan O'Neill. "Thank you, Blue Cross NC for your continued partnership and commitment to supporting North Carolina communities."
