Bank of America Stadium, home to the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC, will serve as an early voting site for the 2024 General Election, open to all Mecklenburg County residents. This marks the third consecutive election in which the stadium has been utilized for this purpose, following its role in 2020 and 2022. The venue also served as a COVID-19 mass vaccination site in 2021.
From October 17 through November 2, Mecklenburg County residents can register to vote and cast their ballots at Bank of America Stadium. On non-event days, visitors will have the opportunity to take photos overlooking the field after voting.
The stadium's involvement is part of the NFL Votes initiative, a nonpartisan campaign encouraging civic engagement across NFL communities. Panthers' wide receiver Adam Thielen appears in a commercial spot promoting voter registration. First-year head coach Dave Canales is also involved in NFL Votes’ Latino-focused campaign, NFL Vota.
“For any election it’s incredibly important that all voices are heard, particularly Latino voices,” said Canales. “I’m so proud to be part of an organization like the Panthers that takes its role in the community so seriously, opening up our stadium to create impact that extends far beyond the football field.”
The Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC aim to mobilize resources for voter education and registration within their local community.
“We are proud to open up Bank of America Stadium once again as an early voting site this year for Mecklenburg County residents,” said Carolina Panthers President Kristi Coleman. “We are committed to helping ensure our community can participate in the democratic process.”
Charlotte FC defender Tim Ream is featured in a public service announcement promoting voter registration through When We All Vote Soccer Collective starting September 6. Fans attending Charlotte FC’s home match on September 21 can visit the You Can Vote booth between the East Gate and Team Store for more information or on-site registration.
