The Carolina Panthers have completed the first four weeks of the 2024 NFL season with a 1-3 record. Despite the team's challenging start, running back Chuba Hubbard has shown significant promise and productivity on the field.

Hubbard is currently on track to exceed 1,000 rushing yards this season. He is averaging 74 rushing yards per game and has accumulated an average of 109 rushing yards in his last two games, along with 145 scrimmage yards during that period. In these early weeks, Hubbard's performance has been noteworthy for several reasons.

In Week 4, Hubbard achieved his sixth career game with over 100 scrimmage yards. His recent performances mark him as the first Panther since Christian McCaffrey in 2021 to achieve consecutive games with over 120 scrimmage yards. Additionally, his average of 5.4 yards per carry ranks him seventh among players with at least 30 rushing attempts.

Over the past two weeks, Hubbard has ranked second in total scrimmage yards (290), tied for second in rushing first downs (13), third in rushing yards (218), and seventh both in yards per rush (5.6) and rushing attempts (39). Against the Bengals, he recorded his first rushing touchdown of the season and achieved a new career-long carry of 38 yards.

Hubbard's involvement in offensive plays has been substantial; he was on the field for 62 percent of snaps during these initial weeks. In Week 3 alone, he touched the ball on more than half of his offensive snaps.

According to Next Gen Stats, Hubbard reached a top speed of 20.23 miles per hour against the Bengals. He boasts one of the highest success rates among running backs with a minimum of 40 carries and ranks seventh in terms of yards after contact, gaining an average of 3.6 additional yards after being hit.

Hubbard's explosive play rate stands at seven explosive rushes out of his touches, while he has been stopped without gain or loss only seven times through Week 4—one of the lowest rates among running backs.

His quickness off the line is also notable; from handoff to crossing it takes him an average time faster than any other player so far this season.
