The Carolina Panthers are preparing for their upcoming game against the Chicago Bears, a team they have historically struggled against on the road. The Panthers have never won a regular season game at Soldier Field but did secure a playoff victory there in 2006. As they head into this matchup, several key elements will be critical to watch.

Quarterback Andy Dalton, who previously played for the Bears, has been performing well recently with an average of 270 yards per game over the last two weeks. His connection with receiver Diontae Johnson has been particularly strong, with Johnson catching 15 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns in that span. "It allows me to play fast," Johnson said about Dalton's experience.

With Adam Thielen sidelined due to injury, Johnson anticipates more defensive attention from the Bears, which could open opportunities for other receivers like Xavier Legette. Coach Dave Canales emphasized focusing on Johnson while creating chances for others: "Right now, we have a starting point, and it starts with Diontae Johnson."

Facing off against Dalton is rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, known for his dynamic playstyle reminiscent of Patrick Mahomes. Safety Nick Scott noted Williams' tendency to extend plays: "That's one of the things you see with young quarterbacks." Corner Mike Jackson and linebacker Jadeveon Clowney highlighted Williams' ability to both pass and run effectively.

Running back Chuba Hubbard aims to continue his recent success after consecutive games surpassing 100 rushing yards. The Bears' defense presents challenges but also vulnerabilities in their run defense. Offensive guard Robert Hunt acknowledged their strengths: "They got good players."

Rookie linebacker Trevin Wallace will make his first start as he steps in for the injured Shaq Thompson. Inside linebackers coach Pete Hansen praised Wallace's readiness: "He's been a sharp guy from day one." The Bears' running game features D'Andre Swift, whom former teammate Miles Sanders described as having explosive speed and agility.

Kicking conditions at Soldier Field can be challenging due to its unique wind patterns. Panthers kicker Eddy Piñeiro is familiar with these conditions from his time with the Bears and will need to adapt accordingly during Sunday's game.
