The Carolina Panthers are set to welcome three players back to practice on Wednesday. Rookie running back Jonathon Brooks, safety Sam Franklin Jr., and defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy have been designated to return, signaling their potential activation to the 53-man roster.

Brooks, a second-round draft pick from Texas, is coming off a torn ACL injury sustained last November. Prior to his injury, he amassed 1,139 rushing yards and scored 10 touchdowns in 11 games, with an average of 6.1 yards per carry.

Franklin, known as the team's special teams captain and emotional leader, broke his foot during training camp. Meanwhile, Crumedy, a sixth-round pick from Mississippi State, suffered an ankle injury in the preseason opener.

These designations open a three-week window for all three players to practice before potentially being activated. They can be added to the active roster at any point during this period.

In addition to these developments, the Panthers have signed wide receiver Dan Chisena to their practice squad. Chisena has previously played for the Vikings, Steelers, Cardinals, and Ravens and has appeared in 31 games primarily as a special teams player.
