The Charlotte Hornets are set to begin the 2024-25 NBA season with their annual Hornets Tipoff Tour, sponsored by Dr Pepper. On Monday, October 21, players, along with mascot Hugo and the Honey Bees dance team, will engage with the Charlotte community to celebrate the start of the regular season.

Hornets Sports & Entertainment President of Business Operations Shelly Cayette-Weston expressed enthusiasm about the event: “With so much excitement surrounding this season, the Hornets Tipoff Tour provides a unique opportunity for our players to interact with the community and show their appreciation to our incredible fans before the season officially tips off.” She also highlighted a partnership with Dr Pepper and Coca-Cola Consolidated aimed at supporting those affected by Hurricane Helene in the Carolinas.

The day's activities will commence with a private event from 3-4 p.m., where Hornets players will join Coca-Cola Consolidated employees and Convoy of Hope in packing hygiene kits for hurricane victims. Following this, from 4-5 p.m., some players will be present at Chick-fil-A on South Boulevard to serve customers and engage with guests. The tour will conclude at Harris Teeter from 6-7 p.m., where players will assist in bagging groceries and signing autographs. Hugo and the Honey Bees will participate in both public events.

Heather Hucks, Vice President of Consumer Connections at Coca-Cola Consolidated, commented on their involvement: “We’re thrilled to again be part of the annual Hornets Tipoff Tour, bringing the Hornets and their fans together in the community, and to join together to give back to those in need.”

Coca-Cola Consolidated holds exclusive rights as the official partner for soft drinks at Spectrum Center concession stands.

Monday also marks five years since NBA’s Jersey Day began. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite Charlotte jerseys on this day as a tribute to the new season's commencement. Participation is extended online through #NBAJerseyDay on social media platforms.

The Hornets' first game of the season is scheduled against Houston on Wednesday, October 23. Their home opener is set for Saturday, October 26 against Miami at Spectrum Center. Tickets can be purchased via hornets.com.
