Panthers quarterback Bryce Young maintains a consistent demeanor, regardless of pressure or relaxation. Known for his steady approach since childhood, Young's teammates appreciate his unwavering nature. Center Cade Mays noted that Young's personality remains unchanged, even amid challenges.
"I think that's just him; I think that's just his personality," said Mays. "He obviously gets super jacked up when good things happen, but never gets too low."
The Panthers experienced a difficult previous season with only two wins and multiple coaching changes. Mays recalled the team's struggles and observed a change in atmosphere this year as results improve.
"It was tough to watch last year," Mays stated. "But now, all of a sudden, people are smiling."
Young acknowledges enjoying recent positive developments on the field but emphasizes maintaining focus on future tasks.
"I think that again, it's just playing off of the energy that we've all had as a team," Young remarked. "We have to make sure that we have a good week of practice."
Head coach Dave Canales hesitated to confirm Young's long-term starting position until recently but praised Young's progress against challenging opponents like the Chiefs.
"Just the progress that we're looking for as he continues to earn these moments," Canales explained. "He's giving us a chance to win."
Young's confidence mirrors his college performance at Alabama, with teammates noting his return to form following earlier setbacks this season.
Despite past challenges and benching after two games this year, Young focuses on self-improvement and gratitude towards supportive influences in his life.
"I'm grateful I have great parents in my life that I've learned from," he shared. "It's just really honing on the process of what I try to do."
As results continue to improve for the Panthers, Bryce Young’s steady presence remains central to their efforts on the field.
