The Carolina Panthers will face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday without one of their key players, Jadeveon Clowney. The team announced that Clowney, who has been dealing with a knee injury, has been downgraded to out for the upcoming game. Initially listed as questionable, Head Coach Dave Canales had expressed optimism on Friday by stating, "I expect him to play right now." However, by Saturday, it was confirmed that Clowney would not be participating.

In Clowney's absence, the responsibility for the pass rush will fall to D.J. Wonnum, DJ Johnson, Cam Gill, and Amaré Barno. Barno made his season debut last week and recorded three tackles and a sack.

Additionally, safety Nick Scott will also miss Sunday's game due to a hamstring issue and personal reasons. Scott was initially questionable and practiced earlier in the week but did not participate on Friday. He is currently in the second week of a three-week window to return from injured reserve.

To bolster their lineup for Sunday’s game, the Panthers have elevated wide receiver Dan Chisena and linebacker Jacoby Windmon from their practice squad. Chisena made his first career catch last week against Tampa Bay with a 6-yard reception. Meanwhile, Windmon has participated in three games this season exclusively on special teams.

The Panthers are scheduled to kick off against the Eagles at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. Fans can follow all coverage on Panthers.com.
