The Carolina Panthers faced another challenging game as their defense struggled to contain the run, allowing over 200 yards for the third consecutive week. The team fell to the Dallas Cowboys with a score of 30-14, marking the fifth time this season they have given up such yardage on the ground.

Jaycee Horn expressed frustration over the defensive lapses, stating, "I mean, that's just want to, like a mindset." He emphasized basic tackling techniques that were not executed properly during the game. Despite his efforts, including two tackles and a sack against Cooper Rush, it was not enough to stop Rico Dowdle's impressive performance of 149 yards on 25 carries.

Linebacker D.J. Wonnum echoed Horn's sentiments about their inability to stop the run and attributed it to a lack of execution rather than effort. Dave Canales highlighted the need for players to focus on fundamentals when reviewing game footage.

The Cowboys also capitalized on passing plays converted into runs by CeeDee Lamb, gaining significant yardage through screen passes. Horn acknowledged these plays caught them off guard: "Yeah, I mean, that's...a good play call."

Looking ahead, the Panthers face tough opponents in their final three games with strong running backs like James Conner and Kyler Murray from Arizona and Bucky Irving from Tampa Bay.

Special teams penalties continued to be an issue for Carolina. Sam Franklin Jr.'s unnecessary roughness penalty added to recent weeks' challenges. Canales stressed eliminating such errors due to their impact on overall gameplay.

Rookie wide receiver Jalen Coker made an impactful return from injury with four catches totaling 110 yards and an 83-yard touchdown pass—the longest completion of Bryce Young's career. Coker appreciated having multiple playmakers available on offense.

A controversial personal foul call was made against Xavier Woods for a hit on CeeDee Lamb; Canales defended Woods' actions but noted it was ultimately at officials' discretion.

Injury updates included Xavier Legette leaving with a groin injury while Claudin Cherelus returned after addressing foot issues during halftime—necessary given Trevin Wallace's absence requiring Jon Rhattigan’s defensive debut this season.
