Chuba Hubbard, running back for the Carolina Panthers, has embraced a demanding role as the team's primary option in the backfield. As injuries deplete the team's offensive roster, Hubbard's preparation for increased workload is proving crucial.

Hubbard acknowledges the physical toll of being a running back but emphasizes his commitment to maintaining his physical condition. "I try to take care of my body," he said, aiming to stay ahead as the season progresses. His readiness is vital for a team struggling with injuries, particularly among its receivers and fellow running backs.

Panthers' head coach Dave Canales noted that Xavier Legette is unlikely to play due to injury, while David Moore remains in concussion protocol. With Miles Sanders and Jonathon Brooks on injured reserve, Hubbard is expected to carry much of the load despite Raheem Blackshear nearing a return.

This season, Hubbard averages 16.1 carries per game and ranks ninth in the league with 225 rushing attempts. Offensive coordinator Brad Idzik praised Hubbard's preparation: "He's been callous-ing up his body for a workload for a long time."

Despite recent setbacks in their offensive strategy due to early deficits in games, Hubbard continues to be ready for any challenge. "He's like a top-5 back in the league," said tight end Tommy Tremble about Hubbard's growth and dedication.

Hubbard himself emphasized the importance of mental preparation alongside physical training: "It's a mental battle more than anything." He remains focused on finishing strong this season with three games remaining.
