The North Carolina Forest Service has announced a ban on all open burning across the state due to heightened fire risk. The ban, effective from 8 a.m. on Friday, March 21, will remain in place until further notice. Additionally, all burning permits statewide have been canceled.

The decision comes as hazardous forest fire conditions persist throughout North Carolina. Residents are urged to comply with the restrictions to help mitigate potential fire hazards.
