Brady Christensen's choice to return to the Carolina Panthers during free agency was driven by multiple factors, despite the lack of a clearly defined position on the team.

"Yeah, honestly, I like when I think about getting prepared for everything, it's more work, quite frankly," Christensen stated, acknowledging the challenges of his versatile role. However, he found comfort in rejoining a familiar environment.

Having spent the past four years with the Panthers, Christensen cited his strong connection to the team and his bond with Austin Corbett, a fellow lineman. This relationship extends beyond the field, with their families becoming close. The stability for his family, Christensen noted, was significant in his decision to stay.

The football aspect also played a role, as Christensen praised the coaching staff, saying, "I felt like I got so much better last year." His journey from a left tackle at BYU to playing multiple positions in the NFL underlines his adaptability.

Reflecting on offers from other teams, Christensen remarked, "The hard part about it is you've got some time, but it's also a pretty quick decision." Ultimately, the opportunity to remain versatile appealed to him, despite potentially easier paths elsewhere.

Christensen's return helps address past issues in the Panthers' offensive line, evident in the reduced sack count from 65 in 2023 to 36 last season. His adaptability, and familiarity with the current draft class, are assets he values as the team builds on last year's success.

Expressing confidence in his multifaceted role, Christensen explained the mental shifts required for each position. "At center, you've got to know all the IDs; you've got to get everyone on the same page," he said, highlighting the different demands across the offensive line.

Concluding with a reflection on his growth, Christensen shared, "So that mental knowledge of being OK switching, like in Denver—I think my rookie year, I think that would have damn near killed me, but now it's just I feel comfortable."
