A new lottery game offers new chances to win, and it wasn’t long before The Price is Right scratch-off reported a big winner.
Claude Walkup, of Charlotte, struck gold with a $200,000 prize, netting him more than $142,000 after taxes were withheld.
”I’m still having problems processing it,” Walkup said in a North Carolina Education Lottery release. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me before.”
The Price is Right scratchers hit retail shelves earlier this month.
Walkup has long dreamed of owning a Cadillac, and he said that’s one of the first things he’ll buy.
"I've always loved Cadillacs,” he said. “Now I can get myself a new one.”
While one of the grand prizes is already gone, N.C. Lottery officials say three more remain to be collected.
Other prizes include a trip to Las Vegas through the second-chance drawings that are part of the “Come on Down” challenge.
