Mecklenburg County, N.C. – A No Swim Advisory was lifted today for a portion of Lake Norman (see map).

The “No Swim” advisory was issued on July 5, 2023, after an estimated 875 gallons of sewage spilled into Lake Norman from a failed pipe located at 18630 Jetton Road, Cornelius, NC.  The line has been repaired and the discharge discontinued.

On July 10, 2023, laboratory results were received for water samples collected by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services’ staff revealing that bacteria counts are within safe limits; therefore, the No Swim Advisory has been lifted.
