Alyson Craig leads the department, overseeing various initiatives such as the Charlotte 2040 Comprehensive Plan and Unified Development Ordinance. Regarding her team, Craig emphasized the dedication of the individuals in her department, highlighting their collaborative efforts in planning for Charlotte's future. She also mentioned enjoying working with other city departments and the community to address growth-related challenges.

When it comes to dining, Craig mentioned frequenting restaurants like Brixx, Bad Daddy’s, and Cowfish with her children, while exploring new dining experiences on date nights. She recently enjoyed Restaurant Constance and looks forward to trying out Leluia Hall and MAS openings.

In the context of Women's History Month and recent elections, Craig reflected on the significance of women's voting rights, particularly for Black women who gained these rights later. She stressed the importance of women having a voice in critical issues and mentioned taking her daughter along while voting to emphasize this importance.
