Elementary students in Charlotte are learning about the power of pollinators thanks to a collaborative effort between the City and Keep Charlotte Beautiful. The initiative, known as "Pollinator Gardens in Schools in Corridors of Opportunity," aims to educate and inspire the environmental leaders of tomorrow.

According to a spokesperson from Keep Charlotte Beautiful, the program is designed to teach students about the importance of pollinators in our ecosystem. The spokesperson stated, "It is crucial for students to understand the role that pollinators play in maintaining a healthy environment. By learning about pollinators, students can develop a greater appreciation for the natural world around them."

The City of Charlotte has been instrumental in bringing pollinator gardens to schools in underserved areas, known as "Corridors of Opportunity." Through this initiative, students have the opportunity to observe and learn about various pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, in a hands-on and engaging way.

The program has received positive feedback from both students and teachers. A teacher involved in the initiative commented, "The pollinator gardens have been a great addition to our school. The students are eager to learn and explore the world of pollinators, and it has sparked a newfound interest in environmental conservation."

Overall, the collaboration between the City and Keep Charlotte Beautiful is equipping students with the knowledge and passion to become future environmental leaders. By instilling a sense of responsibility towards the environment at a young age, these students are poised to make a positive impact on the world around them.
