The City of Charlotte, in collaboration with gener8tor, announced the launch of its new gALPHA and gBETA Charlotte accelerators. These programs, targeting early-stage tech-enabled startups, are the first of their kind in Charlotte and aim to support startups based in or interested in relocating to the region.
"Launching the gALPHA and gBETA accelerator programs will empower our local entrepreneurs and reflect our commitment to fostering a vibrant tech community," said Council Member Malcolm Graham, chair of the Jobs and Economic Development Committee. "By supporting local startups, we are not only creating jobs but also driving the future of our city's tech industry."
gALPHA Charlotte is a four-week venture-creation workshop designed to help entrepreneurially minded individuals create high-growth startups. Participants will build their business foundations with individualized coaching from the gener8tor team, moving from ideation to implementation with assistance from mentors, thought leaders, and strategic partners.
The newly launched gBETA Charlotte accelerator is a free, seven-week, zero-equity program that provides startup founders with concierge coaching and access to gener8tor’s network of mentors, customers, and investors across the United States.
"We’re thrilled to partner with the City of Charlotte to bring these programs to life and continue to support the technology-enabled industries in Charlotte," said Vanessa Huerta, vice president of gBETA at gener8tor. "We’re looking forward to this partnership and the incredible economic impact that the City of Charlotte and gener8tor will bring to the region."
Together, gener8tor and the city aim to bring economic diversity and job growth to Charlotte. The program is designed for startups graduating via the accelerator program to gain potential local partnerships and be prepared to raise capital.
Applications for gALPHA Charlotte are open. The program will commence on Sept. 18. More information can be found on the gALPHA page.
