The Carolina Panthers have initiated the process for two players to potentially return to the field. On Wednesday, the team designated cornerback Dane Jackson and tight end Ian Thomas to return from injured reserve (IR). Both players were placed on IR before the start of the regular season.

Jackson and Thomas are now eligible to practice with the team for up to three weeks. During this period, the Panthers have the option to activate them at any point.

Head coach Dave Canales commented on their return: "Get a new set of eyes on these guys," he said regarding their next steps. "We talk about competition all the time, and I love what it brings to our group just being able to get out there and play fast. Guys who are excited to get back to football, but again, they've got to be out there; they've got to handle the load. They haven't been on the field with us running our plays and all that."

Canales emphasized that this is a significant opportunity for both players: "So this is a great opportunity for those guys to get rolling and for us to get a look at them."
