Charlotte FC has secured a position in the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs following a victory that ensured a top-seven finish in the Eastern Conference. The team demonstrated dominance throughout the first half of their match against Montreal, with players such as Pep Biel, Liel Abada, and Karol Swiderski making an immediate impact. Nathan Byrne also contributed by advancing along the right wing and initiating multiple attacks.

Karol Swiderski continued his impressive form by scoring early after capitalizing on an error from Montreal's goalkeeper, Jonathan Sirois. Charlotte FC entered halftime with confidence, having controlled much of the initial 45 minutes.

The second half saw Montreal gaining more possession and applying pressure; however, they failed to create significant threats. Even with Josef Martinez entering the game for Montreal, Charlotte's defense remained solid. Goalkeeper Kristian Kahlina was required to make only one save throughout the match.

In stoppage time, Patrick Agyemang scored again for Charlotte FC after Iuri Tavares' tackle initiated a counterattack. Brandt Bronico set up Agyemang, who skillfully maneuvered past Joel Waterman before scoring to secure the win.

With this victory, Charlotte FC is positioned fifth in the standings with one remaining match against D.C. United on Decision Day. NYCFC holds sixth place but has an additional game to play, while RBNY is seventh, trailing by one point. The final playoff positions will be determined on the last day of the regular season.
