Charlotte FC midfielder Brandt Bronico has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday following his significant contributions in a 3-0 victory over D.C. United on MLS Decision Day. His two assists played a crucial role in securing Charlotte FC's position as the fifth seed for the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs.

Bronico, aged 29, displayed notable speed and game awareness during the match. In the 57th minute, he received a pass wide and outpaced D.C. United defenders to deliver an accurate cross into the box, which forward Pep Biel converted into a goal. Later, Bronico executed another successful assist by again beating three defenders and crossing for Patrick Agyemang, who scored with ease.

Charlotte FC's win also marked their twelfth clean sheet this season. The club is set to begin its playoff campaign against Orlando City SC at Inter&Co Stadium on October 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET. This match will be part of a best-of-three series, with Charlotte hosting their first-ever home playoff game on November 1 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The complete MLS Team of the Matchday includes forwards Sang Bin Jeong (MIN), Luis Suárez (MIA), and Lionel Messi (MIA); midfielders Caden Clark (MTL), Brandt Bronico (CLT), Eduard Atuesta (LAFC), Diego Luna (RSL); defenders Malte Amundsen (CLB), Daniel Steres (HOU), Marlon (LAFC); goalkeeper Brad Guzan (ATL); and coach Rob Valentino (ATL). The bench features players such as Elliot Panicco (NSH) and Jordi Alba (MIA).
