The City of Charlotte is now accepting applications for the tenth cohort of the AMP Up Charlotte program, in collaboration with Interise. This initiative aims to support small business owners by enhancing their revenue streams, creating jobs, and fostering positive community impacts.
Participants in the program will engage with Interise's acclaimed StreetWise 'MBA' curriculum. This curriculum is designed to help businesses scale their operations through various means, including business development, mentoring, targeted training, and access to large corporations for relationship-building and procurement opportunities.
"Over the past six years the Amp Up program has created a huge impact on the participating companies. Recent program graduates have experienced an average revenue growth of 35%, 27% secured new financing, 77% are following a strategic growth action plan, and 100% would recommend the program to a fellow business owner," stated Bernard Johnson, director of programs at Interise. He further emphasized that "AMP Up is a critical component to ensuring business owners in the city are connected to opportunities while building capacity. Interise is proud to be part of this transformative program and to see local businesses increase confidence while creating a road map for success."
Applications for Cohort 10 are open until noon on Wednesday, December 11. Eligibility criteria include being an ethnic minority business owner with at least 51% ownership of the business, having annual gross revenues of no less than $175,000, employing at least one other worker besides the owner(s), and being in operation for a minimum of two years.
The city will host a virtual open house session at 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 5 to provide more details about the program. Interested individuals can register for this event via the AMP Up Open House Registration Page.
