The Carolina Panthers have bolstered their defensive lineup by claiming cornerback Akayleb Evans off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings. Evans, who was drafted in the fourth round in 2022, has participated in seven games this season, primarily on special teams, after starting 15 games for the Vikings last year.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 198 pounds, Evans adds size to the Panthers' roster. To accommodate his addition, the team has released veteran outside linebacker Charles Harris. Harris recorded three sacks in nine games this season but saw reduced playing time with D.J. Wonnum's return.
