Charlotte FC's Patrick Agyemang and Tim Ream have been selected for the U.S. Men's National Team's annual January Camp. This call-up is a first for 24-year-old Agyemang, who has shown remarkable performance in his second season with Charlotte FC, scoring ten goals and assisting five times in 36 appearances. Originally from East Hartford, Connecticut, Agyemang had an impressive rookie year with Crown Legacy FC and was picked 12th overall in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft after excelling at Eastern Connecticut State University and the University of Rhode Island.
Tim Ream brings experience to the roster with 66 caps, having played in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and contributing to the team's victory in the 2023-24 Gold Cup. Recently, he captained the USMNT during Nations League Quarterfinals against Jamaica.
The U.S. team will participate in two friendly matches during this camp: against Venezuela on January 18 at Chase Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and against Costa Rica on January 22 at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
The January Camp traditionally offers MLS-based players a chance to be evaluated by coaches. Since its inception in 1990, it has seen numerous players make significant progressions into FIFA World Cup rosters. The squad from USA’s last World Cup included nine players who earned their initial caps during a January Camp match.
