Season four begins with Charlotte FC facing the Seattle Sounders in an anticipated match. The game will kick off at 10:30 PM ET in Seattle, marking only the second encounter between these two clubs. Both teams are entering the season with high expectations.

Charlotte's attack features new additions Wilfried Zaha and Patrick Agyemang, alongside returning player Pep Biel. Coach Dean Smith emphasized that Zaha could be a crucial addition, stating that "a missing piece was a player that could come in and create their own chances and help win matches." If Zaha adapts quickly to MLS, Charlotte might overcome Seattle's strong defense.

Seattle's defense remains intact from 2024, maintaining consistency as they face Charlotte's offensive threats. They also bolstered their own attack by acquiring Jesus Ferreria and Paul Arriola from FC Dallas. This combination was seen in action during their recent CONCACAF Champions Cup match.

Kristijan Kahlina, the 2024 Goalkeeper of the Year, returns for Charlotte along with defenders Tim Ream, Andrew Privett, Adilson Malanda, and Nathan Byrne. Their performance against Seattle’s enhanced attack will be pivotal for securing points.

Dean Smith noted wine would return as a reward for clean sheets this season: "What better way to start the season than a nice glass of vino?" With fresh legs after Seattle's midweek game in Antigua for the CONCACAF Champions Cup, Charlotte hopes to capitalize on their opponent’s short rest.

Charlotte FC will host Atlanta United next Saturday at 2 PM on FOX for their home debut. Fans are encouraged to attend what promises to be an exciting opener in the Battle of the South.
